Users must provide appropriate credit to the author or authors, cite the original publication, include a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.
Licensed material may not be used primarily for commercial advantage or financial compensation without separate permission from the copyright holder. Users intending to make commercial use of published material must obtain the required authorization in advance.
Any adapted or derivative material must be distributed under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. Additional legal or technical restrictions may not be applied in a way that prevents others from exercising the rights granted by the license.
Authors retain copyright in their published articles. By entering into the journal’s publishing agreement, authors grant the publisher and journal a non-exclusive license to publish the article and identify the journal as its original place of publication.
Authors may share, archive, and reuse their work, subject to the publishing agreement and acknowledgment of the article’s original publication in the journal.
The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license applies only to material for which the authors hold the necessary rights. Images, tables, datasets, or other third-party content may be subject to separate copyright or licensing terms. Any such restrictions should be clearly identified in the published article.
All published articles may be read and downloaded without charge. Reuse remains subject to the applicable license terms.
The publisher maintains regular electronic backups of published articles and journal website content. Published materials are also stored in a secondary backup system to support continued access and preservation of the scholarly record.
The full legal terms of the license are available on the Creative Commons website.
