Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to journals published by Institute for Advanced Materials Research Press (IAMRP) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another throughout the review process.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal. Manuscript submission, editorial assessment, peer review, and author revisions are managed through the journal’s secure online submission system.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Following submission, the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Associate Editor conducts an initial assessment of the manuscript. This assessment includes:

• Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope

• Compliance with the Author Guidelines

• Completeness of the submitted files

• Academic quality and clarity

• Ethical approval, informed consent, animal-welfare approval, or other regulatory authorization, where applicable to the study

• Disclosure of funding and conflicts of interest

• Originality and similarity screening

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external peer review.

Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are assigned to a qualified Associate Editor or subject specialist.

The handling editor evaluates the manuscript’s academic and methodological suitability for external review and invites at least two independent reviewers with appropriate expertise in the relevant subject area.

Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.

External Peer Review

At least two independent reviewers evaluate each manuscript according to criteria including:

• Originality and scholarly contribution

• Relevance to the journal’s scope

• Methodological quality and scientific validity

• Accuracy and appropriateness of data analysis

• Ethical compliance

• Clarity and organization

• Reliability of conclusions

• Appropriate use of relevant literature

Reviewer and author identities remain confidential throughout the double-blind peer-review process. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based comments to assist the editor and authors.

Editorial Decisions

After considering the reviewers’ reports and the handling editor’s recommendation, the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor makes the final editorial decision.

Where reviewer recommendations conflict substantially, an additional independent reviewer may be invited before a decision is made. Acceptance is normally supported by favorable assessments from at least two qualified reviewers; however, responsibility for the final decision remains with the journal’s editor.

A decision requesting revision does not guarantee eventual acceptance. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or assessed by the handling editor, depending on the extent of the revisions required.

Authors must respond to reviewer and editor comments individually and explain clearly where a suggested change has not been made.

Review Duration

The peer-review process typically takes approximately one to two months from the completion of the initial editorial assessment.

The actual duration may vary depending on the complexity of the manuscript, the availability of suitably qualified reviewers, the number of revision rounds, and the time required for authors to submit revisions.

Authors can monitor the progress of their manuscripts through the online submission system or contact the relevant journal’s editorial office if clarification is required.

Complaints and Appeals

Institute for Advanced Materials Research Press is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, objectively, and confidentially.

Authors who believe that an editorial decision resulted from a significant misunderstanding, factual error, procedural irregularity, or inappropriate application of journal policy may submit a reasoned appeal to the Editor-in-Chief.

An appeal should:

• Identify the manuscript clearly.

• Explain the grounds for the appeal.

• Address the relevant editorial or reviewer comments.

• Provide supporting evidence where appropriate.

Complaints and appeals are normally acknowledged within ten working days. Where an immediate resolution is not possible, the journal will provide appropriate progress updates until the matter has been reviewed.

Appeals do not guarantee reconsideration or acceptance. The decision reached following completion of the journal’s appeal procedure is final.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on academic quality, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal.

The payment or non-payment of an Article Processing Charge has no influence on reviewer selection, peer-review reports, editorial assessment, or the final publication decision. Any applicable publication charge is requested only after formal acceptance.

Publication Process

Following acceptance, manuscripts undergo editorial preparation and copy-editing. Authors receive a proof for final review and approval before publication.

All articles are published on an open access basis under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

Authors retain the copyright to their published work and grant Institute for Advanced Materials Research Press a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, index, archive, and preserve the article.

Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and preserved in accordance with the journal’s digital archiving arrangements.

Indexing and Dissemination

Following publication, article metadata may be submitted to relevant academic search engines, discovery services, repositories, and indexing databases for evaluation, potential inclusion, and wider dissemination.

Submission to an indexing service does not guarantee acceptance or continued coverage, as indexing decisions are made independently by the relevant database.
