Payment of an APC does not purchase acceptance and does not influence the editorial evaluation of a manuscript.
After formal acceptance, the corresponding author will receive an official invoice containing the applicable charge and payment instructions.
The corresponding author is responsible for arranging payment, either personally or through a co-author, institution, research funder, employer, or other authorized funding source.
The article will normally proceed to final production and publication after the required payment has been confirmed.
Authors should not make payments through unofficial channels or to personal accounts. Payments must be made only in accordance with the instructions provided on an official invoice.
Institute for Advanced Materials Research Press supports equitable participation in open access publishing. Full or partial APC waivers may be available to eligible authors based on internationally recognized country-income classifications and the policies of the relevant journal.
Waiver or discount requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission. Requests made after acceptance may not be considered.
Waiver requests are handled separately from the editorial and peer-review process. Requesting a waiver or discount does not influence reviewer selection, editorial assessment, or the final publication decision.
Our active reviewers who successfully complete 15 high-quality and timely peer reviews may be eligible for a 25% APC discount on one future eligible submission, subject to verification and the conditions described in the relevant reviewer policy.
Reviewer discounts are granted to the eligible reviewer, are non-transferable, and must be requested before invoicing.
Authors should consult the relevant journal website for current waiver and discount conditions.
Article Processing Charges are generally non-refundable once an accepted manuscript has entered production. Production activities may include:
Copyediting
Typesetting
Proof preparation
DOI registration
Metadata preparation
Online publication processing
Refund requests received before production begins may be considered individually. Approval of a refund is not guaranteed and will depend on the circumstances and any services already provided.
Bank charges, currency-conversion costs, transaction fees, and other non-refundable third-party expenses may be deducted from any approved refund.
Publication charges are stated and invoiced in United States dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated on the relevant journal website or official invoice.
Bank charges, transfer fees, currency-conversion costs, transaction fees, and applicable local taxes are the responsibility of the author, institution, or funding organization making the payment.
The full invoiced amount must be received before payment can be considered complete.
Institute for Advanced Materials Research Press may revise this policy when necessary to reflect operational, legal, technical, or scholarly publishing developments.
Material changes will be published on the website. Unless otherwise required, revised charges and conditions will apply prospectively to manuscripts submitted after the effective date of the updated policy.
Authors should consult the relevant journal website for the current version of the Publishing Policy before submitting a manuscript.
